Mile High Fundraiser!

On November 11th, FtF Board members John Ehlers and Dayn Conrad hosted a donor appreciation event at Taylor Mansion their historic home in Denver, CO.  Attendees enjoyed a sumptuous dinner and tantalizing selection of wines and local beers.  Taylor Mansion has a storied history, and has been lovingly restored by it’s owners.   The evenings activities included a welcome from hosts Dayn and John, a discussion of FtF’s amazing success story from Board President Sacha Millstone. a private video performance and message from GOODING, and a fascinating lecture/demonstration from Nancy Phillips on the teaching financial literacy the Zela Wela Way. A silent auction featured rare and collectible GOODING items, as well as Gift Cards and electronic items both fun and functional.  Everyone went home with a goodie bag of FTF swag.  The evening was enjoyed by all in attendance, and raised over $2,400 for Funding the Future. Thank you to John and Dayn for opening their beautiful home, and to all in attendance for their support!

 Fall Tour Highlights
We have completed the Fall 2017 Financial Literacy Tour, delivering our message to 22,860 students, in 14 states, supported by 26 sponsors.  Here are more of the highlights below:

Five financial literacy concert/presentations were held in Missouri and Kansas, including the band members’ home town of Wichita.   New sponsor Fidelity Bank, was pleased with their experience at Southeast High School and would like to sponsor again in the fall of 2017.  Our last show of the week was hosted by The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in Kansas City, MO in their public event space.  Approximately 350 students from Kansas City schools were bused in for the event.  The Bank provided each student with snacks, a goodie bag filled with educational materials and a special “Rock the Fed” t-shirt, and an unforgettable experience.

A total of 5 sponsors brought our financial literacy message to over 2,600 students in Iowa and Nebraska. There were 9 shows and almost a dozen TV radio and press stops including front page of the Omaha Herald money section and Lincoln Journal Star.  FTF Advisory Board member Jennifer Davidson sponsored several of the events and coordinated all of the details for the other sponsors.

 Nashville, TN

FTF visited John Overton High School in Nashville on November 7th, presenting to over 250 students.  We had some very positive feedback from the students like this one: “I really loved your performance at Overton High school! I learned so much about how to control my money so it doesn't control me. Thank you!"

 Boulder, CO
Nancy Phillips presented her first FTF Financial and Life Success Skills seminar at Casey Middle School on November 10 sponsored by Sacha Millstone.  Over 300 students enjoyed her interactive program.  In the evening Nancy gave a program for the parents, showing them how to help their kids and teens develop healthy habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.  An internationally known financial literacy expert, Nancy recently made an appearance on a Canadian financial literacy program called The Wealthy Life hosted by Funding the Future sponsor, Sybil Verch.

 Tuscaloosa, AL
Our last show of the tour was hosted by new sponsor Lance Hocutt with Lance Hocutt Financial Group.  Lance brought together 2,200 high school seniors from 9 schools for our largest show to date at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.  He organized 43 volunteers and arranged for busing the students to the venue and providing lunch for everyone.  His goal was to give the students a fun and educational experience in a real rock and roll concert venue.
