Fall 2016 Financial Literacy Tour: Behind the Scenes
By Rita Pouppirt, Executive Director

A few weeks ago I met with several organizations in Kansas and Missouri to set up schools and partnerships for this coming fall and beyond.

One of the meetings was with Krissy Young and Lowell Jones with the Public Affairs and Community Development office at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.  Our introduction was facilitated by the Wyoming State Treasurer, Mark Gordon. They have agreed to host and sponsor a large event at their location in a public event space which has the capacity for 400+ Kansas City students on October 28th.  Krissy mentioned the possibility of live streaming the event to all of the Federal Reserves around the country, who would have large groups of students at their locations. We will be working on the associated logistics in the next few weeks to see what we can do to make this happen.

If all goes as planned, the week of October 24-28 will be completely filled up for the Kansas and Missouri leg of the tour.

Make an Investment in the Next Generation
A generation at risk.

Here’s a startling statistic: This year, the average college student will graduate with $37,172 in student loan debt, plus $737 in credit card debt. This generation will enter the workforce shackled with debt, and destined for bankruptcy.

You can help preserve their future.

Support Funding the Future. Your cash donation of $100, $250, $500 or more will help teach future generations how to responsibly manage their money.

Your gift allows Funding the Future to deliver its message to schools across America.  It pays for the materials used in the classroom. It supports the administrative costs of coordinating volunteer efforts. It underwrites outreach to spread the FtF message to wider and underserved audiences.
